Head refers to a component used to seal the end of a container and isolate its internal and external media, also known as an end cover. The head of a cylindrical container is generally a rotating shell. According to the shape of the head surface, it can be divided into convex, conical, flat, and combined shapes. Convex heads refer to heads with a convex outer surface shape, such as semi spherical, elliptical, dish-shaped, and non folded spherical heads. Some gas cylinders adopt a combination of convex inward bottom heads, which can ensure strength and meet the requirements of safe use.
The head is the end cover on a pressure vessel and is a major pressure bearing component of the vessel. The function is to seal. One is to make the upper and lower bottoms of the tank shaped pressure vessel, and the other is to seal the pipe by welding with a sealing head when the pipeline reaches its end and is no longer ready to extend forward. Products that have similar functions as heads include blind plates and pipe caps, but those two products can be disassembled. After the head is welded, it cannot be disassembled again. The supporting pipe fittings include pressure vessels, pipelines, flanges, elbows, tees, crosses, and other products.
